Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH/LEC/CDM) has been growing in popularity and for good reason. Here's why and why we carry it:
Produces wider, fuller, and higher quality spectrum of light compared to HPS The full CMH spectrum ranges from ultraviolet (UV) all the way to infrared (IR). UV helps with enhanced synthesis of chlorophyll and carotenoids development. We noticed overall greener plants and stronger, thicker stalks. Ceramic also produces a high intensity, high quality light at a CRI of 92, pretty close to the sun at 100 CRI. This also creates improved visibility in the grow when working in and checking crops for any nutrient deficiencies or pests.
Lower energy consumption and heat output, high value We like efficiency and practicality here at GrowPower and running a 315W or 630W CMH fixture is still less energy consumption than running 1000W HPS and also at a lower initial cost than LED of comparable wattage. For the money, CMH provides great value delivering high quality light at great intensity with low energy consumption.
Applications With better light quality and spectrum, another benefit of CMH allows it to be used as both a primary grow light fixture or supplemental lighting fixture. CMH can help widen and balance the light spectrum of your grow. Cultivators have had success placing CMH in between existing HPS or LED lighting to supplement with additional UV and PAR.
